Kaitlin Robbins: I had back surgery as a 25 year old. It was kind of serious and I can't take opioids. So for me, cannabis was the only thing that worked. And I understand it as a pain relieving substance, something that's natural.
Andrew Salini: It's a new awakening on how we're thinking about taking care of ourselves. And it's an exciting time to be a part of this. I feel really lucky. We talk about this all the time at Verde. So many generations have come and gone and cannabis has been stigmatized, it's been vilified. Now we're sort of reimagining where its place in society is.
Kaitlin Robbins: Sustainability was definitely one of the reasons I joined this company. Just having ownership that actually cares and wants to make a difference.
Andrew Salini: You should grow cannabis organically. You should grow it in a clean way. And on top of that, you should grow it in living soil. With any other way of growing, the plant's not going to represent its true genetic potential. It's not going to grow the way nature intended. With living soil, you don't have to play God. You don't have to force-feed chelated nutrients. You let the plant do what it's supposed to do as it would in nature, and the only way to get that true representation is to grow it in living soil. If there's a way that we can be more of a positive source and get people to think about all the waste that they're creating, we want to do that.
Kaitlin Robbins: It's way more rewarding to know you're just giving people a plant that nature provided for us, and that it can help them with pain and so many different things.
Andrew Salini: That's where our heart is set. That's where our belief is. That's the ideology at Verde.
